The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: All aboard The Doctor’s Magic Caravan!

THURSDAY

First, congrats to all you Americans who get to watch The Avengers again for Labor Day Weekend. Lucky bastards~

Idris Elba gets an expanded role in Thor: The Dark World, and while I am glad for Idris, how the hell does everyone get an expanded role (everyone but Hiddles, apparently, lol)? Is the movie going to be three hours long (I am not complaining)?

New pics from The Hobbit! My favourite? This thing of beauty (and eyebrows):

Damn Thandruil is a total DILF, that fierce bastard!

We also got Elijah Wood being cute about The Hobbit [1]:

It felt like home. I think after so much time had passed, it was also quite surreal. But I think the most surreal thing about it is that it felt oddly normal. I think I expected it to feel like eight years had passed and in a way it felt like no time had passed. In that way, it really surprised me. It was like a family reunion. It was like stepping back in time. It was a gift. It was really wonderful to revisit old friends and be in that space again. And not having the responsibility of three movies. It was nice to pop in and pop out and have a lovely visit.

Oh hey! New poster for Texas Chainsaw 3D. Yes, it’s a new movie about Leatherface.

New Elementary promo, in which Sherlock Holmes uses Google, because not everything is deducible~

Three clips and TV spots from Anna Karenina. And damn it looks all so gorgeous!

Finally, we have this short film called Friend Request Pending with Judi Dench (and a bit of Hiddles at the end), a lovely take on relationships for people of the third age in this social network era.

Animation in China is leaping huge steps forward in the animated shorts done by students and newly setup studios. I hope it reaches it’s animated movies soon… especially with the start up of Dreamworks Shanghai and the likes.
