The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: A bunch of A-holes

Greetings, my fellow geeks! This week we have the trailer of Guardians of the Galaxy and the possible cast of the new Fantastic Four movie was presented. Other things happened, but there weren’t as important as those two pieces of news. Here’s how the week started~

SATURDAY

The teaser trailer of Orange Is The New Black Season 2 has been released and it looks great!

OK, apparently Anthony Mackie really wants to be in Avengers: Age of Ultron and has been taking measures to harrass Marvel into hiring him. Follow your dreams, my dear!

I call all of them at Marvel every Monday. I’m like, ‘So have y’all decided if I’m in Avengers 2 yet? I’ll get on the bus to Albuquerque tomorrow!’ I wanted to be a superhero from the first day that I started in this business, and to have the opportunity to be a superhero is kind of remarkable. If I get the opportunity to be in The Avengers 2, 3, 7 and 18, there’s no way I would complain or balk at any part of that…

Also, Spider-Man is not only your friendly neighbor but also the most eco-friendly one! The Amazing Spider-Man 2 also seems to have a department called Mordor~

SUNDAY

BAFTA night! And Gravity won many awards even if it only got Best Director and Outstanding British Film of the main ones. 12 Years a Slave won Best Film, and Chiwetel Eijiofor got the award for Leading Actor.

Talking about BAFTA, Benedict Cumberbatch had an hour long conversation in a new series made possible by BAFTA-New York and The Hollywood Reporter called In Conversation. He talks about many things, including being a workaholic, coping with fame, avoiding social media… and his weird yet pretty (pretty weird?) face~

I have kind of grown up with this face and it has been in the industry for ten years and now it is getting on these hottie lists. I just kind of go … it just doesn’t make any sense because I was nowhere near the 1000th hottest face when I started out. I know a lot of it is projecting, which is flattering about the work I suppose. […] I am not a typical beauty, so basically I’ve got a long neck and a long face. That’s usually period, that’s usually some kind of inbreeding weirdness. So … I’ll run with that. I’ll wear some high collars and get on a horse.

Here’s the whole thing in full if you have the time!

As we’re aware, there’s gonna be a full LEGO episode on The Simpsons, and now we have an official date: May 4! The episode is titled “Brick Like Me” and it’s the 550th one!

Apparently Agent 13 (that is Sharon Carter, Peggy Carter’s grandniece) is just going to have a glorified cameo on Captain America: The Winter Soldier. I’m glad, I want them to focus on Cap’s relationship with Black Widow and Falcon, and the drama of The Winter Soldier~ No time for actual romance here! Bromance all the way!

We introduce her as a character in this movie, but it’s sort of a soft introduction. here’s definitely the budding of [a romance], but it’s something that’s more left to future storytellers.
